Beautiful Wedding Stationery Created by Hand in Manchester
We started life as norma&dorothy in a spare room. Over a decade and thousands of weddings later, we're LOOM, still designing and hand-finishing wedding stationery in Manchester, with a modern eye and the same care.
One family friend's wedding, and a quiet obsession with paper.
Grace has been designing pretty things since she was ten, filling pastel-pink notebooks with sketches of imaginary shop fronts.
She studied art, then fashion, and worked as a knitwear designer for high-end brands before a family friend asked her to make wedding invitations. That small side project reopened a childhood love of paper and craft she hadn't touched in years.
Grace started an Etsy shop as a hobby, called it norma&dorothy, and within eighteen months had left knitwear behind, moved into a studio in the centre of Manchester, and taken on a team.
Why Loom
Manchester built its name on cotton mills and hand looms — the city that clothed the world. When we started thinking about a new name, the loom kept coming back to us. It felt honest about where we're from, and honest about what a wedding actually is.
A loom takes separate threads, warp and weft, two directions, two families, and pulls them together into one cloth. Nothing about it is quick. Every intersection is deliberate. That felt like the right symbol for the work we make, and for the day it belongs to.
The new name also gave us room to grow. Our design language has matured from the rustic-and-whimsical style we started with into something more modern, more considered, and, we hope, quietly beautiful.

Every invitation, sign, menu and guest book we sell is made by a small team from our studio in Trafford Park. We design in-house, print in-house, and hand-finish everything before it leaves us, because a wedding invitation is the first thing your guests will hold in their hands, and it matters that it feels right.
